Richard Burbidge Limited has submitted a planning application for its Whittington Road/Unicorn Road sites...
...to turn the brownfield site into a mixed-use development comprising a Tesco foodstore and petrol filling station, a five screen cinema, restaurants and leisure units.
The scheme will enable the company to relocate within Oswestry, thereby safeguarding 200 jobs and creating a further 350 local jobs, as well as improving the vitality and vibrancy of Oswestry through improved retail choice and new leisure facilities.
It will also help regenerate the north eastern corridor of the town, which the Borough Council has identified as a priority, at the edge of the town centre, building on the historic importance of the Cambrian Railway Works building.
